Hokkaido
Hokkaido is situated in the far northern part of Japan where the summers are refreshing and humidity-free and the winters provide excellent skiing and the opportunity to witness the drift ice. Eco tours are available for places such as Shiretoko, registered as a World Natural Heritage Site, so you can experience first-hand the ecological system in which innumerable precious animals and plants exist. The 2008 "G8 Summit", hosted by Japan, will be held in July in Lake Toya-ko, Hokkaido. The beautiful scenery of this area provides a perfect backdrop for world leaders to discuss harmonious coexistence with nature. In this guide, the major sightseeing points of Hokkaido are introduced from an ecological perspective.

Because its pure white appearance with white plaster coating looks like a dancing Shirasagi (Egret) with wings spread, this famous castle is also called the "Shirasagi-jo" or "Hakuro-jo". It was spared from damage during the war and from many other disasters and is in a remarkably preserved state compared to other castles. Seventy-four structures within the castle site including a tower and gate are designated as important cultural assets of Japan. The year of establishment was 1346. Later, the warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi (1536-1589), who ruled over most of Japan, built a full-scale castle wall, which became the base for present-day Himeji-jo. At the start of the Edo period, the castle underwent considerable renovation over a 9-year period to create the magnificent appearance we see today. If you are confident in the strength of your legs and back to climb up and down, you should take a look around the inside of the castle. Clearly, beauty was not the only priority of those in power throughout the ages. Its complicated structure, particularly the three tall watchtowers connected by columns and winding maze-like passages, functions well as a war fort and conceals a mechanism to halt the invasion of enemies and throw them into confusion. The design is intended to prevent access to the tallest watchtower and castle keep, situated at the heart of the castle, which functions as a center, so beware if you go there without a map, you may get lost!
Among the many gates are the remains of gate mechanisms for dropping stones on the enemy if they manage to enter, or gates with an extremely narrow passageway so that not many people could pass at once. Numerous holes to shoot from are made in the castle wall and there are windows from which to drop gigantic stones on the enemy, too. It is very interesting that there is a kitchen in the inner court in case the castle falls under siege or an attempt is made to starve out the occupants. By the way, the thick coating of white plaster on the outer surface is not just there for aesthetic purposes but also for defense, because of its excellent resistance to fire and bullets. The castle keep rising from the peak of Mt. Hime-yama is built with a total height of 32 m on a stone wall approx. 15 m high, and the view from the top of the keep is spectacular. On a fine day, you can imagine the emotions of a feudal warlord with his ambitions to dominate the whole country. At night, the entire castle is lit up, so a visit after sunset is highly recommended as well.Himeji City, Hyogo prefecture

Ruins of the main island of Okinawa wherethe influence of Japan, China and the Korean Peninsula still lingersLatest Topics
Okinawa prefecture
Cultural heritage sites are scattered among the southernmost islands of Japan and on the main island of Okinawa. There are 9 ruins symbolizing the unique culture and religious beliefs of the Kingdom of Ryukyu that once flourished here.In Okinawa, dictatorships began to arise in various areas from around the twelfth century, and castle-like buildings called "Gusuku" were constructed. However, these buildings were not like Himeji-jo Castle, which is registered as a world heritage site as well, but more like a fort. Gusuku were also treated as sacred sites under local religious belief. When the 14th century came along, each area was unified into three counties and the unified Kingdom of Ryukyu was finally established in 1429. In line with this, the symbol of the Kingdom "Shuri-jo Castle" became the sole Gusuku.
Shuri-jo is built on upland 120 m above sea level overlooking Naha City. The castle area surrounded by stone walls approx. 10 m high is 400 m east to west and 270 m north to south. Inside the castle, there is an open space and facilities for political, cultural and diplomatic activities and festivals, and the largest wooden structure in Okinawa "Shoden (central building)" was built on the castle premises. This building shows a strong influence from various cultures including from Japan and China, which proves that trade with Asian countries was very active at the time. The pattern of dragons or vermilion lacquer coating shows the influence of China, and the structural form of the roof shows the influence of Japan. Shurijo was completely destroyed in World War II and most of the present buildings are reproductions built up until 1992. Because this place is used as a location for TV dramas, it attracts many tourists. On the west side of Shurijo is a massive stone structure, "Tamaudun", created using a natural rocky outcrop. This is the tomb of the successive royal families of the Kingdom of Ryukyu, and the inside of the tomb is paved with coral reef fragments, and at the center of the structure and in the east and west towers stand lion statues called Shisa, which are a symbol of Okinawa and a charm against evil.Naha city, Chinen village, Nakagusuku village, Kitanakagusuku village, Katsuren town, Yomitan village, Nakijin village, all on the Okinawa Main Island in Okinawa prefecture

Hot Springs
There are many types of hot springs, distinguished by the minerals dissolved in the water. Different minerals provide different health benefits, and all hot springs are supposed to have a relaxing effect on your body and mind.
Hot spring baths come in many varieties, indoors and outdoors, gender separated and mixed, developed and undeveloped. Many hot spring baths belong to a ryokan, while others are public bath houses. An overnight stay at a hot spring ryokan is a highly recommended experience to any visitor of Japan.
OSAKA CASTLE
Osaka Castle is Osaka's most famous landmark. The gardens around Osaka Castle are very popular in cherry blossom season.
Osaka Castle (大阪城 Osaka-jō) a Japanese castle, Osaka's best known sight, although it's a concrete reconstruction that pales in comparison with, say, Himeji Castle. Still, it's pretty enough from the outside, especially in the cherry blossom season when Osakans flock to the castle park to picnic and make merry. Open 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily, adult admission ¥600 (Children up to middle school free). Closed at the end and beginning of the year. The park can be accessed on a number of lines, but the castle is closest to Osaka-jo Koen station on the JR Osaka Loop Line.

Okinawa Island
Okinawa Island
There are three popular beaches on the west side of Okinawa Island. They are called Moon beach, Manza beach, and Okuma beach. Manza beach is the most popular. It is about a one and a half hour drive from Naha-city. Don't miss the view of Monza-mou, which is a famous cliff made of coral reef. The beaches of Okinawa Island are open from April to October. Manza beach Hotel is a luxury hotel in Manza. There is a good diving point in Manza.
Iriomote Island
This is the second largest island in Okinawa. It's located west of Ishigaki Island and takes about one hour by ferry from Ishigaki Island. This island is covered by tropical and subtropical forest and is known as the "mystery land of Japan". There are many unusual species of plants and animals on this island, such as the Iriomote Lynx. River tours through the jungle are a popular attraction. There is star-shaped "sand" on the Hoshisuna-no-hama Beach. The "sand" is actually the tiny skeletons of sea creatures, but it resembles grains of sand. Star sand is said to bring happiness and makes a very popular souvenirs.
Japanese Tea Ceremony
While touring the maple-bloomed gardens and incense-filled temples of Nara and Kyoto, cities steeped in the residue of an older way of life, you'll often get the opportunity to partake in tea and cake. The idea of this quite naturally evokes thoughts of ease and contentment. The experience for the uninitiated, however, can be a little more complex. Seemingly simple acts such as taking tea can prove daunting for those unfamiliar with the requirements of Japanese etiquette and floundering for a way in.
Although the average foreigner is by no means expected to be an expert in ceremonial nuances, uncertainty about what to do can induce anxiety. You may find yourself muttering questions such as: how do I sit on the tatami mat? How low should I bow? Which way do I hold the tea cup? Should I slurp, and how loudly? Above all, how do I eat the cuter-than-cute pink sweet-bean cake in the shape of a rabbit with that small stick?
How do I eat the cuter-than-cute pink sweet-bean cake in the shape of a rabbit with that small stick?
A great way to engage more deeply with the significance of the tea offering without the stress and embarrassment is to enrol in a short course on formal tea ceremony - chadō (literally 'the way of tea') - when you arrive in Japan. A lesson will typically involve an introduction by an instructor to the significance of chadō (perhaps using gorgeous handmade models of teahouses), the three levels of bow (ranging from formal to informal), and the consideration given to the calligraphy, ceramics, ikebana and kimono chosen for the ceremony.
Traditional, formal ceremonies use matcha, a bitter, vibrant, powdered green tea. The matcha is prepared using hot water that is poured using a hishaku (bamboo ladle) into the chawan (tea bowl) where a scoop of powdered tea has been added. It is then whisked briskly with a chasen (bamboo whisk).
Your instructor will show you how the tea is made, introduce you to the intricate cleansing rituals and offer you the chance to make some tea yourself. Each action - the ladling of the water into the bowl, the requisite number of quarter turns made of the bowl (both before drinking and after), the number of sips taken to finish the tea (three and a half) and the art of the appreciative slurp - is choreographed and fascinatingly precise.
A traditional Japanese teahouse
Always remove your shoes before you enter the teahouse and, once inside, kneel on the tatami mat. The cup is placed on your open left palm, and held and turned with your right hand. The most decorative part of the cup ought to face away from you and towards the host as you drink. Your audible final half-slurp will let your host know that you're done.
Your audible final half-slurp will let your host know that you're done.
Sweets are eaten before the tea to alleviate some of its astringency. They will sometimes be delicate sugary flower shapes or other attractive designs. The Japanese version of a cake to be served with tea is made of sweet bean paste, comes in numerous shapes, sizes, colours and flavours, and is delicious. Slice it into sections with the small piece of bamboo that looks similar to a knife and then spear it (as you would with a toothpick) to eat it.
At the heart of the ceremony are the principles of harmony, tranquillity, purity and respect. It was once the domain of Zen Buddhist monks, who employed it as a spiritual ritual. Gradually, over the centuries, it became available to all ranks of society. Teahouses were traditionally built with a small door raised off the ground so that samurai, the highest order, would be forced to
bow and remove their swords to enter.
The tea ceremony is a complex ritual that takes years, often a lifetime, to learn. In addition to the precise preparation, serving and sharing of tea, the elements of kimono, calligraphy (usually in the form of a hanging scroll), flower arrangement and ceramics are all significant. A tea master must be versed in each of these disciplines.
Once equipped with a little chadō know-how, however, you'll probably find your tea-drinking companions will be open to sharing some of their insider tips, and you'll feel much more at ease over your matcha and pink sweet-bean rabbits.
Master of the Bunny Slope
David Weber reveals what can happen when English teachers go snowboarding in Japan.
Spring has come to Japan and winter has been pushed out the seasonal door. And I say good riddance for even though I like winter and snow, I'm afraid I might be tempted to try snowboarding again if winter were to last any longer. Weeks after the attempt I still feel aches and pain from this self-inflicted Spanish Inquisition of Winter Sports.
Whose sadistic idea was this anyway to make what was obviously some kind of torture method from medieval Switzerland into a sport?
I went to Echigo Yuzawa in the Niigata Prefecture last month. Being a Southern it seemed strange to me to engage in winter sports at the end of March. Our snow generally comes discreetly in December and has the common sense and decency to depart by the end of February with the exception of a few rude snowstorms. With the aid of the shinkansen, the Japanese bullet train, one can leave spring's domain in Tokyo and be knocking at winter's door within an hour. Some slopes in the Japanese Alps and the northern region Tohoku will often stay open till the beginning of May though skiers may find themselves fighting over remaining patches of slushy snow.
I went with three fellow English teachers from work and one of the receptionists from our school. One of the teachers and the receptionist had snowboarded before. The rest of us were rank-amateurs. I had at least skied a few times. Luke had skied once when he was 11. Martin had never skied or snowboarded before.
The coats and pants we rented were less padded than we expected or would have liked. Joseph, our snowboarding expert, said not to worry as this is was normal for snowboarders.
Fair enough but later in the changing room we found him applying all sorts of padding to his body.
"Uh, you didn't mention anything about bringing padding." one of us said to him.
"Don't worry! I'm sure you boys won't be needing it!" he said, perhaps a little too cheerily.
Martin was the first of us to go. He never even made it to the chairlift. He only got one foot strapped on the board before he went. We had been practicing how to stand properly on the board when Martin went down. All of us had been falling but Martin landed hard on his shoulder. So hard that he was in fact done for the day before he even got started for the day.
He was a good sport about it after the painkillers kicked in. He drank beer in the lodge all day and rode the gondolas while Luke and I were busy sliding down the mountainside on our faces.
Luke was the next of us to go. He sprained his wrist a little while later and switched to skis for the remainder of the day.
I had actually twisted a muscle in my back before I even got on the chairlift just trying to walk with the stupid board on my foot. Instead of joining Martin for beers in the lodge, my stupidity overrode my pain and I persevered so I could achieve more pain. I believe I succeeded admirably as I must have cracked a rib because it still hurts weeks later.
I remember how I used to hold snowboarders back home in such contempt when I had gone skiing in the past. I was a decent skier meaning a I could avoid trees and other skiers and actually get off the chair lift without falling over. But my beginner's skills were no match for dealing with inane snowboarders who were constantly either zipping wildly past or falling all over the place trying to copy some stupid stunt they saw on MTV last week.
As I struggled and fell down the hill, skiers would pass me with the same contemptuous sneer I once had for snowboarders
Now the board was on the other foot (though I had a hell of a time trying to get the other foot on it). As I struggled and fell down the hill, skiers would pass me with the same contemptuous sneer I once had for snowboarders.
I was quite in impressed with the Japanese skiers and snowboarders. They were very polite and aware of their surroundings. They were able to gracefully move out of harm's way whenever an out-of-control first-time gaijin snowboarder such as myself came tumbling by.
Japanese snowboarders are quite different than their North America counterparts. I saw very little in the way of stupid stunts that cocky snowboarders try to do back home. This is perhaps due to the fact that when snowboarding was first introduced in Japan, many slopes required a license in order to snowboard. Japan didn't want the type of hooligan snowboarder that was often a prevalent nuisance in other countries.
The Nagano Olympics in 1998 first introduce snowboarding as an Olympic sport thus propelling its popularity in Japan. Nowadays you find snowboarders to be of all different ages and backgrounds.
I spent most of the morning braving the slightly inclined slope of the Bunny Slope. Whipping by at speeds that would have turned a tortoise's head, I eventually got a little better. I became confident. I became cocky. I became: The Master of the Bunny Slope.
I should have stayed there but no! I had to listen to Joseph's advice to try the tougher slopes. I realize now that Joseph wasn't going to be satisfied until everybody was badly hurt.
On the higher slopes I found I was no longer the Master of the Bunny Slope. I was the Rank Novice of the Beginner Slope and the Chicken of the Intermediate Slope. The Expert Slope had all the allure to me that a piping hot bowl of chili has to a Legionnaire dying of thirst in the Sahara Desert.
As I tumbled down the mountain, the sharp blows to the head (did I mention Joseph had a helmet?) jarred an early childhood memory of an old ABC TV Sports World commercial. The commercial showed a scene of a runner winning a race as the words: "...the thrill of victory..." were spoken followed by: "and the Agony of Defeat!" The scene would then switch to a skier tumbling down, down, down a mountainside. In fact I think he is stilling falling. The Agony of Defeat I can handle, it’s the Agony of Falling (not too mention landing) that I have a problem with.
I realized that if I was knocked unconscious, I wouldn't have to listen anymore to the J-Pop music that was coming out the speaker system on every slope
I had one comforting thought, though, as I fell. I realized that if I was knocked unconscious, I wouldn't have to listen anymore to the J-Pop music that was coming out the speaker system on every slope.
Later, in an effort to keep my bones from becoming jelly, I devised a new technique on how to get down the mountain in one piece. Our receptionist, Mari, was stunned. She had never seen anyone snowplow all the way down a mountain before. And on a snowboard no less. I said never underestimate what cowardliness and necessity can come up with.
Mari was a very graceful snowboarder herself. She could glide off the chairlifts with the poise and grace of a petite Olympic ice skater. That is until one time I ran into the back of her and knocked us both flat on our backs. I'm sure that had nothing to do with the cracked rib she got.
By the end of the day, I had a body full of pain. My ribs hurt, my back hurt, my wrists hurt, my bum hurt, and my knees hurt. I felt like I had been the guest of honour at an all male orgy.
My first day of skiing I had left feeling sore but confident. At the end of my first day snowboarding, I felt only pain and more pain and deep suspicion of Joseph who alone of us escaped injury.
All I can say is, thank God spring is here!

Mitakesan (Mount Mitake)
Besides a popular shrine, Mount Mitake offers various walking and hiking opportunities in virtually unspoiled nature. Located in the Okutama region, the westernmost part of Tokyo, the mountain can be reached in less than two hours from central Tokyo, and is accordingly popular among people looking for a break from the city.
From the shrine, you have various hiking options to neighboring peaks and valleys. Among the most beautiful destinations is the so called "Rock Garden", which, in fact, is a narrow, forested valley with a picturesque stream, lots of moss covered stones and two nearby waterfalls. It takes less than an hour to reach the valley from the shrine.
An excellent hiking map, which shows the extensive network of hiking trails in the Okutama region, is available for free at the Mitake Visitor Center (closed on Mondays), halfway between the upper cablecar station and the shrine.
how to get there
From central Tokyo, e.g. Shinjuku or Tokyo Station, take the frequently departing, orange JR Chuo Line to Ome Station (75 minutes from Shinjuku). A few trains go all the way to Ome. Otherwise, a transfer of trains is required at Tachikawa (40 minutes from Shinjuku).
At Ome Station, change to another orange train on the JR Ome Line (usually waiting on the opposite platform of the arriving train) and ride as far as Mitake Station (20 minutes). The whole trip from Shinjuku to JR Mitake Station costs 890 yen one way and is fully covered by the Japan Rail Pass.
Once at Mitake Station, take the bus to the lower station of the Mitake cablecar (10 minutes, 270 yen one way, about 2 buses/hour). The cablecar lifts you to close to the summit of Mount Mitake (1090 yen roundtrip, about 3 departures/hour).
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is one of the 23 wards of Tokyo, but the name commonly refers just to the large entertainment, business and shopping area around Shinjuku Station.
Handling more than two million passengers each day, Shinjuku Station is Japan's busiest railway station, served by six railway companies and about a dozen railway and subway lines, including the JR Yamanote Line.
West of the station is Shinjuku' skyscraper district, home to many of Tokyo's tallest buildings, including several premier hotels and the Metropolitan Government Office, whose observation decks are open to the public for free.
Northeast of the station lies Kabukicho, Japan's largest and wildest red light district, while department stores, subterranean malls and electronic shops surround Shinjuku Station on all four sides, including the recently redeveloped south, where the pleasant Southern Terrace is located. Redevelopment there is still ongoing.
Shibuya
Shibuya is one of Tokyo's most colorful and busy districts and birthplace to many of Japan's fashion and entertainment trends. Most of the area's large department and fashion stores belong to either Tokyu or Seibu, two competing corporations.
A prominent landmark of Shibuya is the large intersection in front of the station (Hachiko Exit), which is heavily decorated by neon advertisements and giant video screens and gets crossed by amazingly large crowds of pedestrians each time the traffic light turns green.
Below is a map and list of some of Shibuya's other major attractions:
Meiji Shrine
Meiji Shrine
Meiji Shrine (Meiji Jingu) is a shrine dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his consort, Empress Shoken. In Shinto, it is not uncommon to enshrine the deified spirits of important personalities.
Emperor Meiji was the first emperor of modern Japan. He was born in 1852 and ascended to the throne in 1868 at the peak of the Meiji Restauration when the power was switched from the feudal Tokugawa government to the emperor. During the Meiji Period, Japan modernized and westernized herself to join the world's major powers by the time Emperor Meiji passed away in 1912.
The Meiji Shrine was completed in 1920, and rebuilt after being destroyed in World War Two. It is located in a wooded park area next to Yoyogi Park in Tokyo. Various events and festivals are celebrated at the shrine throughout the year.

Tokyo
Tokyo is Japan's capital and the country's largest city.
Tokyo is also one of Japan's 47 prefectures, but is called a metropolis (to) rather than a prefecture (ken). The metropolis of Tokyo consists of 23 city wards (ku), 26 cities, 5 towns and 8 villages, including the Izu and Ogasawara Islands, several small Pacific Islands in the south of Japan's main island Honshu.
The 23 city wards (ku) are the center of Tokyo and make up about one third of the metropolis' area, while housing roughly eight of Tokyo's approximately twelve million residents.
Prior to 1868, Tokyo was known as Edo. A small castle town in the 16th century, Edo became Japan's political center in 1603 when Tokugawa Ieyasu established his feudal government there. A few decades later, Edo had grown into one of the world's most populous cities.
With the Meiji Restoration of 1868, the emperor and capital were moved from Kyoto to Edo, which was renamed Tokyo ("Eastern Capital"). Large parts of Tokyo were destroyed in the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923 and in the air raids of 1945.

Trying To Find The Causes For Autism
Many parents hope that in finding a source of autism, this disorder can be cured or prevented. Unfortunately, scientists have yet to find one single reason why children develop autism. It is possible that someday autism will be linked to a specific gene abnormality, but the more likely source is not one thing, but a number of factors in a child's world. Autism cannot be prevented or cured, so the best we can do to help autistic children and adults is be understanding and willing to compromise to make the world comfortable for them and ourselves.
First off, there are certain things that do not cause autism, and these myths should be laid to rest immediately. Most importantly, bad parenting does not cause autism. In the past, mothers were blamed for traumatizing their children with cold parenting techniques, which was thought to lead to autism. This is simple not true. Autism is also not caused by malnutrition, although food allergies occur in my autistic children and some autistic children do benefit from taking daily vitamins.
There are many links between autism and the brain. Most people with autism have larger brains and they are "wired" differently than a typical brain. Differences occur in many parts of the brain, so it cannot be targeted to one specific brain malfunction overall, but rather a brain malfunction in general. Autistic children also show signs of an immune deficiency. Evidence in this study is not yet strong, but research is still being done. Many autistic individuals have other health problems related to immune deficiencies. Overall, these things all seem to point to genetics. Although autism is not the parents' fault, it is most likely that autism was found elsewhere on your family tree, and it is not uncommon for parents to raise more than one autistic child. Autism may also be linked to vaccinations, although this is still being highly studied. The benefits of vaccinations greatly outweigh the risks of them causing autism, so you should not deprive your child simply because you are fearful. Talk to you doctor if you have concerns about vaccinations.
Nobody knows what causes autism. Therefore, we can do nothing to prevent and cure it, but rather we can simply treat the autistic people in our lives with the best of our ability. Becoming educated in autism is the key-the more you know about the disorder, the better you can help individuals who suffer from it. Autism is a complex problem, and as researchers develop new understandings of the way it affects the body, better treatment options will become available, with the hope that someday we will be able to cure this disease.

10 Important Tips for Getting Children to Read
A child who reads becomes an adult who reads. Most adults who begin reading at an early age continue to learn by reading throughout their lives. Reading is more than a necessary skill - it's a source for learning, entertainment, enjoyment and comfort. The skill of reading can be one of the most valuable gifts that you give to your - or any - child.
Still, the question remains: How do you get children to read? There are so many distractions in today's world - television, cartoons, and video games, to name a few - that it may seem impossible to get your children to sit down and read, let alone turn them into reading enthusiasts. As a mother who has raised five avid readers, I can tell you that it's nowhere near as hard as you might think. Here are ten important tips for getting your children to read - and loving every minute of it.
1. Let them see you read.
I'll bet you thought that #1 would be "Read to them", didn't you? That's important (and it will get its own tip), but the single most important thing you can do to raise children who love reading is to be a reader. It doesn't matter if you read magazines, newspapers or books. What is vital is that your children, from an early age, see reading as a valuable and fun thing to do - and the best way to show them that is to read in front of them.
2. Read to your children regularly.
Bedtime stories are an enduring childhood ritual, but don't stop reading when your kids outgrow being tucked in at night. In our house, we made nightly reading a part of our evening - not at bedtime, but in the living room. Even when they reached their teens, my kids would often wander out into the living room to listen if I was reading to younger brothers and sisters.
3. Talk about what you read.
I am not suggesting that you should give your kids a reading comprehension quiz every time you read a story to them. Instead, get used to talking about the books that you read in casual conversation. Mention how excited you are that your favorite writer has just published a new book. Ask them how they think Ramona (or Harry Potter) would handle a situation. Remind them about scenes in stories that you read to them when you run into similar scenes in real life.
4. As soon as they're old enough, get them a library card.
Your public library is still the very best source of reading material. Take your kids to the library often. Hang out with them in the kids' room and let them choose their own books. Get them familiar with the librarian, and let them see other people enjoying books.
5. Make a big deal of their personal writing.
Writing gives kids an appreciation for the written word and deepens their enjoyment of reading. When children and teens start writing their own stories, they stop viewing books as something magical and unusual, out of their reach. If your children write, treat their writing as you would any other book. Buy them a journal. Help them create and bind their own books. Put their books on the bookshelf next to their bought books.
6. Subscribe to children's magazines.
Books are fun, but magazines offer a different kind of reading and engagement. Too often, even we adults only consider it "reading" if it's in a book. Magazines are colorful, topical and fun. Many children who consider reading a chore when the reading comes in book form will eagerly snatch their favorite magazine from the post box the moment it arrives and not put it down till they've read every last page.
7. Make books and magazines accessible - in every way.
Buy books and magazines for your kids as gifts. Make sure that there are books around the house in places that are easy for them to reach. Make sure, as well, that the books you choose are accessible - written for the right age level, and geared to their interests.
8. Institute family reading time.
When your kids start thinking they're too old for read-aloud, institute a family reading time. It can be as little as twenty minutes a day, or an hour two or three nights a week. The only rule is that everyone in the family participates - shut off the televisions and computers and everyone reads.
9. Show an interest in what they're reading.
The single most valuable reward for most kids is attention from their parents - so pay attention when your kids read. Notice it when they read a book that you remember. Ask them what the story is about. Talk to them about the books that they like.
10. Watch movies based on books - and then read the books together.
The other way around may work as well. Television and movies don't have to be the enemy. When you read Charlotte's Web, rent the video and watch it together - then talk about how well it captured the book. Or reverse the process - watch Harry Potter, then read the book together and talk about how much more depth there is in the book. Either way, you're fostering a critical eye and showing your children that behind every movie or television show is a writer and often, a book.

Sexual Trends in 2008
At the beginning of the millennium, experts estimated we will be facing more sexual freedom and it seems that they were right: we are celebrating more and more marriages between persons of the same gender, we are facing a new era of visual arts, in which erotic scenes are abundant, and we have a lot of resources to improve our sex life.
Because the laws of Eros have a lot of followers all over the world, we tried to find out which are the sexual trends in 2008.
Be a man, Zoe!
If women want to equal men in terms of professional success and financial power, why wouldn’t they have sex like they do, more or less ‘by chance’, without any emotional implications? Experts say women will more easily accept indecent proposals from men, as long as they don’t have a certain status…
Unconstrained will replace the old bashfulness, and more and more women will accept certain sexual challenges. We will see more men simulating orgasms (even though at first sight this might seem impossible to most of you) because of the stress and of the increased consumption of antidepressants.
Following the model of famous couples, extramarital affairs will be a trend of the year 2008, and so will be ‘blind-dating’, with partners who will know one another from matrimonial sites.
The coolest sexual technique in 2008 will be ‘pegging’ – any position that allows the woman to penetrate the man’s anus with sex toys. The PMS will no longer represent women’s excuse to behave like ‘bitches’, and most of them will feel as beautiful as they always were even in ‘that time of the month’, avoiding this way to give headaches to their partners.
Famous video games are nowadays inspirational themes for porn scenarios; from ‘Warcraft’ to ‘Whorecraft’, it was a very easy and tiny step to take.
Sex toys are becoming more popular, and their promotion is done through more and more original methods and ways. The Cream vibrators are reinventing the design in their category, so the classical milk boxes now have multiple uses, but they have become ‘parental advisory’ for children.
Because in general we do not think about sex when we refer to Visa, someone thought that the association of the two concepts would be very much appreciated and created a modern universe of business, more flexible and shaded. The last publicity campaign of the company is as ‘different’ as it could be, giving up the official tone that usually accompanies the Visa card presentation.
Given the fact that public toilets are not very welcoming, Portuguese thought of a way of transforming them into very warm attractive places. If you ever get to a public restroom in ‘Eight Avenida Center din Sao Joao da Madeira’, you will have the surprise of your life – these have been decorated with lingerie models, to properly welcome the guests that answer affirmative to nature’s call…
Instead of the T-shirts that contain explicit messages, now the ones with porn designs are in fashion. And not any kind of T-shirts, but some very famous brand names. We either talk about cosmetics, clothing or accessories, the sexy elements are very trendy in 2008.
When you don’t have a sexual partner, but you ‘feel the urge’ to have sex, you can always resort to the help of a robot. It will not only stay faithful to you, but you will also enjoy great sex.
Now the question that surely arises on your lips is the following: what will happen to us if we continue to think this way? Will there ever again be feelings involved between partners or will we become pure robots? We could end up plain dummies with no feelings, and this should never happen, no matter what are the trends or latest fashions.
Sure, once or twice you could play a porn video game or wear a sexy T-shirt to increase your sex drive or simply to spice up things in your bedroom, but try not to turn these things into your regular sexual habits. Remember that what makes us different from animals, and, in this technology era, from super intelligent robots, are feelings, so don’t forget about them.

Fish Oil Supplements
Fish oil supplements are the fastest growing form of ingestible omega 3 fatty acid nutrition available on the market. Fast, easily accessible and in-expensive, practically everyone is a candidate for setting up a regiment. Easily obtainable at most all grocers and health food stores, it has never been easier to integrate the heart-healthy benefits of omega 3 fish oil into your diet.
Taking omega 3 fish oil through dietary supplements offers many benefits over simply eating fresh fish. For starters, to obtain the proper amount of omega 3 fish oil intake, one would need to consume fish for at least 5 meals a week. Anyone who has eaten seafood at a restaurant lately knows that fish is not necessarily one of the cheapest entrées on the menu. Even at national chain restaurants, a typical fish dinner can cost the consumer between ten and twenty hard-earned dollars. While it may be slightly more cost effective to prepare your fish from the comfort of your home, this can have its disadvantages as well. Fish can be a difficult entrée to prepare properly and can be very time consuming. In addition, to reap all of the benefits of the omega 3 fish oils, the fish must be purchased fresh and has a relatively short shelf life. Finally, seafood is not always receptive to peoples' tastes and can interfere with allergies.
Thankfully, omega 3 fish oil retains all of its nutritional and health benefits when absorbed into the bloodstream as a dietary supplement. Taking fish oil supplements also allows the consumer to avoid other dangers of eating fresh fish, such as mercury ingestion. The knowledge that some fish contain high levels of chemicals such as mercury and nitrogen is nothing new. While much improvement has gone into minimizing these levels in ocean and fresh water fish, it is not unusual for fish with higher levels to make it to the market. These levels are much easier to sustain in farm raised fish, however, the flavor is simply not the same.
In addition to providing a safer alternative than consuming fresh fish, taking dietary omega 3 fish oil supplements allows a person to correctly dose to his or her needs. While no studies exist which point to a danger in consuming too much omega 3 fish oil, it has been suggested that different amounts will achieve optimum results for consumers of varying ages. This is especially true for those with specific health conditions. For instance, the American Heart Association recommends that patients with documented coronary heart disease should consume one gram of omega 3 fish oil per day, while those who look to lower their triglyceride levels should consume two to four grams per day.
Omega 3 fish oil supplements are available in grocery stores nationwide and through many on line retailers. These supplements are obtainable in capsule form, liquid tablets, powders, and are even contained in some enhanced multivitamins. With so many options, there is no reason you should not be enjoying the health and nutritional benefits of omega 3 fish oil supplements today.

Neuropathy, A Diabetic Side Effect: How to Decrease or Eliminate This Problem
One diabetic side effect is neuropathy. This is a condition where the nerves of the body are damaged. It is called "Diabetic Peripheral (referring to the outer part of the body) Neuropathy". This type of neuropathy affects the feet and legs, hands and arms, and it can occur on both sides of the body. In fact, 40 percent of type 2 diabetics experience Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy.
Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy shows up as one or more of the following symptoms:|
* Tingling and numbness in the toes, fingers, or legs. * Feeling cold, pain or burning feet, hands or legs. * Extreme sensitivity to touch, even a light touch. * Sharp pains or cramps. * Loss of balance and coordination.
These symptoms are often worse at night.
Causes of nerve damage
Higher than normal sugar levels in the body cause the outer sheathing (protective covering) of nerve cells to degenerate. This is similar to an electrical wire that is covered with insulation, and the insulation is beginning to crumble. Without insulation the unprotected wire will start short-circuiting.
In the same way, when the sheathing of nerve cells degenerate, the signals being transmitted are scrambled, resulting in your body receiving signals that are interpreted as numbness, heat, cold, tingling, pain, etc.
What can be done about it?
It has been known for some time that increased levels of Tiamine (vitamin B1) in the blood stream are very effective in reducing and reversing diabetic neuropathy. Unfortunately, the oral intake of vitamin B1 does not greatly increase the levels of B1 in the blood stream. Previously, the way that blood stream levels of B1 were increased was through periodic intravenous feeding or through injections every few weeks.
The reason that methods like this had to be used is that Tiamine (sometimes spelled Thiamine), like all of the B vitamins, is water-soluble. It cannot be stored in the body and flushes out within 4 to 5 hours. Oral intake of Tiamine over 5 mg results in greatly reduced bioavailability and immediate flushing from the body (this is why urine frequently turns yellow when taking larger doses of B vitamins).
Now, a new type of vitamin B1 has been produced, called Benfotiamine. It is a fat-soluble version of vitamin B1. What this means is that this new form of vitamin B1 can be taken orally in large dosages and it will not flush out of the body the way ordinary Tiamine (vitamin B1) does.
The result is that the blood stream levels of vitamin B1 can now be greatly increased, enabling a rapid and effective decrease or elimination of the symptoms of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy.
Many of our diabetics now using Benfotiamine report a lessening of their neuropathy symptoms within 4 to 7 days, and Benfotiamine has been shown to be non-toxic and without any side effects even in very high dosages.
You can start using Benfotiamine and decrease or eliminate these problems!

Compact and Cool Cars from Japan
NEW INVENTIONS & NEWS MAKING HEADLINES ABOUT JAPAN AUTOS IN JAPAN
Japan’s Suzuki Reno
Suzuki Reno 2008
The 2008 Suzuki Reno is a cool compact car that is gaining accolades due to the number of distinct features it has that is a combination of style, comfort and convenience. This compact hatchback vehicle has a 2.0 liter Inline-4 engine with 16 valves and rack and pinion steering that is speed sensitive. The vehicle's suspension is composed of a front suspension that is a MacPherson strut and a rear suspension that is an independent dual-link. The vehicle also has four wheel disk brakes and comes in either manual or automatic transmission. The Reno can be bought in one of six funky colors.
Sassy and Cool Interiors
The 2008 Suzuki Reno's interior can be described in one word...cool. This vehicle is built for the younger generation and for those who feel young with its cool gray interior design that includes comfort and convenience in its sassy package. Air conditioning keeps the air cool or warm depending on the weather, power windows and power door locks give an added ease of use and cruise control is available for those relaxed longer drives. Safety is also key here with the vehicle's safety features that include air bags, seat belts and side impact beams for all the doors.
Why Buy the Japanese Used Car Suzuki Reno
While a lot of people may argue that used cars have miles and miles of travel on them, Japanese used cars do not fit this argument. Majority of Japanese used cars have very little mileage on their meters simply because they are often used for inner city driving only. Majority of long distance travel in Japan is done by public transport like buses and trains because of the high cost of long distance travel. Add to this the high cost of vehicle evaluation and re-registration that gets Japanese car owners to trade in their slightly used vehicles for newer ones, and you've got a huge selection of Japanese used cars to choose from. Buying a Japanese car import is a wise decision to make since you do get a pretty good conditioned car at a huge discount. Japanese car imports also can be found on online Japanese auctions, used car auctions and from used car dealers.

Is Japanese Language difficult to learn?
The answer is "yes" and "no". Yes, because, first of all, the Japanese language has a few sounds with five standard vowels and simple pronunciation scheme; syllables are formed by a single vowel or a consonant-vowel combination. For the grammar, there are few exceptions to its rules, and restrictions on sentence structure are not severe.
The Japanese language is considered difficult by many due to the mixture of different types of characters, namely, kanji characters, hiragana characters, katakana characters and Roman letters; the most difficult one is kanji. There are about 3,000 commonly used kanji characters including the 1,945 "daily use characters", and 46 hiragana and katakana characters each.
One aspect of the language that makes it difficult for foreigners to grasp quickly is the presence of many words which are pronounced the same but have different meanings. For example; hana can be "flower" or "nose", ame for "rain" or "candy". Knowing kanji helps in this aspect of learning as each of these words can be easily recognized by kanji.
Cultural Considerations
Another feature which makes the learning of Japanese difficult yet interesting is the fact that the way Japanese is spoken differs depending on whether the speaker is a man or a woman, and adult or a child. Can you imagine, for instance, how strange a male foreign speaker, especially a big macho-looking man, sounds, if he speaks Japanese which he has picked up informally from Japanese lady’s speaking?
What is even more troublesome is that the speaker must choose his words considering the relationship between himself and the person he is speaking to or speaking about. The barriers between the speaker and the listener/person in the topic are mostly created by familiarity between two people, age and position in society. The more unfamiliar you are to the listener, and the younger you are, and the lower your social status is, the more your speech becomes formal. The reverse is the informal speech. One example is that there are numerous words meaning "I" and each speaker refers to himself using the one what is most appropriate for his situation. Besides, these situational differences can be accentuated by the body language; custom of bowing (45 degree in general), space between two speakers, eye contact, etc., which projects the cultural aspect of the Japanese society.
In general, the Japanese are notorious for being a poor speaker of foreign language. Therefore, they appreciate the foreigners’ learning Japanese. Their typical response to foreigners’ speaking even a little Japanese is "Joozu desu ne!"; "Your Japanese is good!" Thus, knowing a little Japanese can go a long way, not only in communication, but captivating the heart of Japanese.

The wallet was developed almost immediately after the introduction of paper currency to the West in the 1600s. (The first paper currency was introduced in the New World by the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1690.) Prior to the introduction of paper currency, purses (resembling simple drawstring leather pouches) were used for storing coins. International Marriage - Cultural Shocks And Adjustments
Cultural shocks continued for many years when living in Singapore. A plate of chicken rice is served with so much rice, so much meat but very little vegetables - only a few thin slices of cucumber and tomato. In Japan, maybe the proportion of meat versus vegetable is reversed.
Sales And Services Quality
At department store sales girls stood behind counter, bear-footed with no shoes. I had only a traveler’s check and when they took it for verification, it took them a long time to come back. As I was trying to take out T shirts from the rack, the sales girl immediately tried to put it back. As I touched the clothes on the hangers, the same thing happened. To me, this action was saying "I don’t want you to mess up my work. Don’t touch anything!" Often they were also not familiar with the products they were selling. No advise, no help for customers. Just an unfriendly glare, especially when I decided on no-buying. Having used to Japan’s customer service, I was often put off by Singaporean’s sales personnel’s manners and unprofessional behaviour.
Singlish
Moving around with public transport was equally challenging. Asking a bus driver for direction and I thought he spoke in English but I could not understand. This inability of understanding English later on occurred even at NUS tutorial times with my students. I could not understand their English, neither did they with my English. I always thought my English is good as I am in the profession of simultaneous interpretation. I then learned there was Singlish and vowed secretly to myself that I would never let myself be corroded by it. However after 25 years, now I speak it beautifully! Whenever Singaporeans say to me, "Your English is very good!", I don’t know if I should take it as a compliment or not. My son spent 6 years in American School and he switches back and forth between American accentuated English and Singlish depending on who he talks to on the phone.

Is Wu-Long (Oolong) Tea Really Better Than Green Tea for Weight Loss?
Is wu-long tea really a fat-burning miracle? There are so many wild and unsupported claims about foods and herbs that are supposed to help you lose weight. So it's rather refreshing to find that wu-long tea, which is being touted as the new weight loss miracle, actually has some scientific studies that back up the claims.
However, you may discover that you'll pay less for this tea if you buy it using the traditional spelling of its name – oolong tea and wu-long tea are the same thing, spelled differently.
The most famous study linking wu-long tea with weight loss was published in August of 2003. Researchers at the University of Tokushima School of Medicine and seven other schools found that oolong tea increased the burning of calories by 10%, while women drinking green tea had an metabolic increase of 4%. Both teas increased the burning of fat when drunk after a meal, but wu-long tea appeared to do a better job.
Another Japanese study was done in 2006, and researchers found that oolong tea was able to reduce the absorption of fats eaten during a meal. They found that lipids (fats) were passed through the body in the stool at a higher rate than participants who did not drink the tea after their meals. The tea also had a positive effect on the participant's cholesterol levels.
Green tea has been used traditionally in Japan and other Asian countries by women who wish to stay thin. Green tea has also been used as a cancer-preventative.
Green tea, oolong (or wu-long) tea, and black tea all come from the same plant. The differences in the finished product that we drink comes from the differences in how long the three types of tea are processed and fermented. Green tea has been processed the least, and black tea has been processed the most. Oolong tea falls in the middle.
Oolong tea contains about half the caffeine as green tea, but more polymerized polyphenols, the chemical that is thought to increase the metabolism of fats. Although caffeine can increase the metabolism, to some extent, it is evidently not caffeine that makes oolong tea more efficient as a weight loss drink.
Unfortunately, wu-long tea has less of the cancer-fighting properties that is found in green tea. Since green tea is believed to cut the risk of ovarian cancer as much as 50%, you will need to weight the odds. If you drink green tea now, you may not want to switch to oolong tea if you are concerned about cancer – but if you want to lose weight and you don't drink any tea now, you may want the increased metabolic boost you'll get from wu-long tea.
The results of the studies suggest that you will gain the most benefit from the metabolic boost from wu-long tea if you drink it just after a meal. According to Gary Gause, founder and president of Dragonwater Tea, oolong tea has a delicious, complex flavor. Some say it has a "nuanced flavor profile."
Unfortunately, so many people are now buying this tea for weight loss that it supplies are now limited, and prices will probably continue to rise. If you want to try wu-long tea for weight loss, you might want to put in your supplies.
Looking for more weight loss information? You'll find out more about wu-long tea for weight loss, and read hundreds of original articles to help you burn the fat at http://www.Stress-Free-Weight-Loss.com

Necessity to Lose Weight
Necessity to Loss Weight
It is undoubtedly proven that increasing number of people have to cope with weight problems and becoming obese because of the hectic life-style that is a feature of modern day living. Having fast foods, which are rich in the fat content they have and moderate physical activity, it is quite expected that day-by-day people are becoming more and weightier.
The extent of the impact that obesity have is alarming. Currently in excess of 1 billion adults are obese - and a minimum of 300 million among them are critically obese. Obesity levels currently vary from below 5% in China, some of the African nations and Japan, to above 75% in urban Samoa. However, even in comparatively less affected countries such as China, rates are nearly 20% in some of the cities.
Obesity and overweight result in severe metabolic effects on cholesterol, blood pressure, insulin resistance and triglycerides. Some indecision of the results of overweight arises as researchers have employed varying BMI cut-offs, and as the prevalence of lots of medical conditions associated with the development of overweight may confuse the impacts of overweight itself.
Already childhood obesity has risen to epidemic standards in certain areas and in others it is rising all the time. Approximately 22 million children below five are predicted to be obese worldwide. In the opinion of the US Surgeon General, USA has double the number of obese children now and the number of plump adolescents has trebled since 1980. Since the 1960s the number of overweight children between 6-to-11 years has more than doubled. In the USA, between 1966-70 and 1988-91 obesity occurrence in youths between 12-17 years has risen dramatically from 5% to 13% in boys and from 5% to 9% in girls.
Obesity is global and extends more and more into the developing world; for instance, the occurrence of obesity in children between 5-to-12 years increased from 12.2% to 15.6% in only two years. Obesity is responsible for 2-6% costs of total health care in a number of developed countries; some approximates have the figure as terrible as 7%. The actual costs are indisputably much higher because not every one of the obesity-associated conditions is accounted for in the calculations.

Magic Gel C by AdorageMD
Vitamin C –is one of the relatively few topical agents whose effectiveness against wrinkles and fine lines is backed by a fair amount of reliable scientific evidence. Unfortunately, the practical use of Vitamin C in skin care presents some difficulties due to its lack of stability. When exposed to air, Vitamin C undergoes oxidation and becomes less effective or even potentially harmful ( oxidized Vitamin C ca increase the formation of free radicals).
Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (MAP) is a water soluble derivative of Vitamin C, rapidly gaining popularity in skin care. It is non irritating and more stable form of Vitamin C. Most importantly it appears to have the same potential as Vitamin C to boost skin collagen synthesis but is effective in significantly lower concentrations. We have a very high concentration of MAP ( Vitamin C), but it is patented. (According to FDA regulations –the ingredients on the box are placed in subsidized order, and MAP in our formula is the 3 ingredients after water)
MAP appears to be a better choice for people with sensitive skin and doesn’t have any exfoliating effect as most Vitamin C formulas. MAP has superior percutaneous absorption and stability, excellent non-irritating skin whitening effect, that inhibits skin cells to produce melanin, lightens age spots, protects skin from oxidation, including UV rays, has anti-inflammatory and soothing effects, promotes collagen synthesis, inhibits lipid-peroxidation. MAP doesn’t degrade in formulas containing water.
It suppresses melanin formation by tyrosinase and melanoma cells. These results suggest that MAP delays progression of skin damage induced by UVB irradiation. MAP exhibits such inhibitory effects by scavenging hydroxyl and lipid radicals generated as a direct or indirect result of UVB exposure due to a conversion to AS ( Ascorbic acid) Studies are made by Kyoritsu College of Pharmacy, Tokyo, Japan and University of Padova, Italy( Department of Pharmacetical Science)
But aging is a more complicated process than just the loss or need of Vitamin C-so in our formulation we have fatty and amino acids and Vitamin E as Tocopheryl Acetate and Urea.
Lack of natural urea ( which is a lactic acid) ,playing a vital role in maintaining the skin’s moisture balance and the suppleness of the skin induces psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis and dry skin. In dry skin –urea concentration is diminished by 50%. In skin with eczema-urea is reduced by 85%.
AdorageMD recommends using Gel C in the Evening regimen, followed by our Magic Retinol Cream, containing Glycolic Acid, which improves the skin’s texture and tone, diffuses the appearance of fine lines, and can fight the acne.
We always remind our clients to use sunscreen during the day. Try our Magic products, because you have nothing to loose than wrinkles, age spots, damaged cells and dull, stressed skin. With ADORAGE you are getting the skin YOU WILL ADORE.
Adorage is a leading website for hormonal aging treatment. It's mission is to become the number one site for skin supplement searches.

Therapeutic Manipulation – What Exactly Does it Mean?
Therapeutic manipulation refers to any technique by which a disease or disorder is treated using the remedial use of the hands, especially by a skilled practitioner. Some of these techniques include:
Acupuncture Massage Physiotherapy Chiropractics Myopractics
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most commonly used medical procedures in the world. Originating in China more than 2,000 years ago, acupuncture began to become better known in the United States in 1971, when New York Times reporter James Reston wrote about how doctors in China used needles to ease his pain after surgery. The term acupuncture describes a family of procedures involving stimulation of anatomical points on the body by a variety of techniques. American practices of acupuncture incorporate medical traditions from China, Japan, Korea, and other countries. The acupuncture technique that has been most studied scientifically involves penetrating the skin with thin, solid, metallic needles that are manipulated by the hands or by electrical stimulation.
Massage Massage is now one of the most popular forms of alternative therapy, whether it's for stress relief, muscular therapy or even emotional healing. But with so many different types of massage available, it can be hard to know what's right for you? The most basic form of massage is Swedish. The gentle soothing stimulation of the soft tissue and muscles is a wonderful means of calming nerves and improving overall circulation.
Physiotherapy Physiotherapy is a science-based healthcare profession which views movement as central to health and well being. Core skills used by physiotherapists include manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and the application of electrophysical modalities. Physiotherapists believe it is of crucial importance to take note of psychological, cultural and social factors which influence their clients. They try and bring the patients into an active role to help make the best of independence and function.
Chiropractics Chiropractics is based on the scientific fact that your body is a self-regulating, self-healing organism. These important functions are controlled by the brain, spinal cord, and all the nerves of the body. The skull protects the delicate tissues of the brain. The moving bones of the spine protect the vulnerable communication pathways of the spinal cord and nerve roots. If the nervous system is impaired, it can cause malfunction of the tissue and organs throughout the body. Chiropractic is the science of locating offending spinal structures, the art of reducing their impact to the nervous system, and a philosophy of natural health care based on your inborn potential to be healthy.
Myopractics As an advanced form of bodywork, Myopractic integrates together the soft tissues and skeleton to achieve deep relaxation and relieve chronic pain. Based on the same system of training as that in the Bowen Technique, Myopractic employs postural assessment as a guide to its treatment plan for clients aiming to restore the body's structural integrity back towards its ideal state. Myopractic shows that where there is a bone or joint misalignment, then there is a muscle that is responsible. Once the muscle disorder is corrected, the skeleton will respond correcting the misalignment.
Effective pain management is an increasingly diverse field and manipulative therapies are only one field to consider. Pain management is a matter of personal choice and a case of finding what works well for your individual needs. Effective management of pain can often make the difference between living a life governed by debilitating pain and leading a relatively normal life.
